Survey Update
almost 5 years ago – Wed, Jul 03, 2019 at 02:06:58 AM

The Kickstarter Campaign has concluded and was a great success!  I wanted send you out an update about what happens next.

Within the next 13 days an email will be sent to your email address with the details of your pledge and a link to your personal pledge manager on Backerkit.  It will look something like this.

Everything is good to go on my end, I'm just waiting on the green light from Kickstarter before i send out the emails.  I've been assured that this should take no longer than 2 weeks.

I'm excited to get these miniatures out to you and am looking forward to seeing what you do with them so hopefully things resolve quickly.

I'll post another update when the Surveys have been sent out.  Again, this should be within the next 13 days.

Talk again soon!

Final 24Hrs Update!
almost 5 years ago – Sun, Jun 30, 2019 at 02:21:07 AM

Over the last week I've been busy taking care of some of the less flashy aspects of the Kickstarter, Mold Making, Casting, and Setting Up the Pledge Manager so that it is good to go when the Campaign comes to a close.

As for the mold making process, it is a time consuming one, but one that rewards patience and attention to detail.  The new molds are working fantastically well with all the modifications i made from the previous set.

These are the molds as it stands.  I'm currently waiting for a shipment to come in from my molding supplies supplier which includes a case of release agent (very important for keeping the molds in top shape) and a new kind of silicone that should cut down the curing time of my molds drastically (like less than on tenth the time it takes currently).

So what does a few days of producing minis look like?

These minis have been cleaned and sorted and are ready for their new homes.  Just a few more days and they'll be on a plane.

I'll be fulfilling orders on a first come first serve basis once the email to the Backerkit Pledge Manager has been sent out.  I'll let you know in an update similar to this one when the email has been sent out.  It should be sent to the same email that you have linked to your Kickstarter Account.

So what does the pledge Manager look like?

In case you haven't had a chance to check out BackerKit it is a really useful tool when it comes to taking care of all the details of Reward Fulfillment.  You will be able to customize your pledge to get exactly what you want.  The Pledge Manager also handles shipping costs and your shipping information to ensure i get your rewards to exactly where they need to go.

If you want any additional copies of a specific miniature, they will all be available individually as well.

I'm estimating that I will be able to fulfill all the backer rewards within the next 3 to 4 months.  If this time frame changes I will be sure to let you know, but as it sits things are well on their way.

All the miniatures will be supplied with 18mm circle bases for the smaller models and 25mm circle bases for the larger ones (Ogre Rat, Weapon Team, and Rat Swarm), so your models won't be lacking bases.

I think that's everything i needed to cover at the moment.  If you have any questions feel free to message me and i'll get back to you as quickly as I can.

I want to personally thank all of you for making this possible, because of your support I've managed to sculpt up 16 additional miniatures over the course of the campaign, and am looking forward to sculpting many more.

I truly hope you enjoy these miniatures as much as I do (if that's even possible)

Till next time,

-Thomas

This Week's New Sculpts!
almost 5 years ago – Mon, Jun 17, 2019 at 10:11:24 PM

As we've entered into the final two weeks of the campaign.  i'm trying to wrap up a few more sculpts to add in.  Today I have another Armoured Ratmen miniature to show you, and something entirely different for a future project.

First off the Armored Ratman!  I liked the head on this model so much i decided to not sculpt a helmet on it.  I may make a variation with a helmet later, but for now, i'm leaving him bare headed.

Secondly, something entirely different.  I've been sculpting Ratmen almost exclusively since the beginning of April, and the urge struck me to sculpt an orc.  So that's what I did.  This orc model is a 15mm scale version of one that i sculpted at 30mm scale last year.  Although I don't think i'll include him in this Campaign, I thought i'd show him to you anyways as maybe an idea of things to come.

I have a few more projects on my desk that i hope to have completed by the end of the week sometime.  We'll see how that goes.  As always i'll update you once i have these models molded and painted up.

Till then take care,

-Thomas

New Models and New Stretch Goal!
almost 5 years ago – Sun, Jun 16, 2019 at 04:42:37 PM

Just checking in to show you some painted pictures of the Rifle-Rat and the Rat-Priest.  Both molds turned out excellent with no challenges, which means more models for the campaign.

Here's a few pictures!

To celebrate 100 backers (I don't think i even know 100 people in person) and hitting $2700, I'm adding the Rifle Rat as a Stretch Goal to each Core Set.  Cheers!

Hopefully I'll have some new sculpts to show you in the next couple of days.  Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!

Till next time,

-Thomas

This Week's New Sculpts and New Stretch Goal!
almost 5 years ago – Thu, Jun 13, 2019 at 01:46:39 PM

I have some new stuff to show you this week, a couple new models almost ready to be molded (they just need a little clean up here and there and some prep work for molding).  I'm looking forward to seeing them all cast up.  Also we hit another stretch goal this week, so i'll be adding something i haven't really shown until now.  Surprises are always nice!

Alright first off, the first new sculpt, the Ratman Rifle Rat.  Creating this model was great fun, I've actually never sculpted a gun before this point and it was interesting to do so.  I even tried to get the little trigger in there, a super tiny piece of resin that took several tries to get in the right spot. (seriously try putting a sliver of resin inside a single link of jewelry chain, it's quite the process).  Here's some pictures.

Secondly, another addition to the Bookrats.  The BookRat Priest, a rather rotund rat with a book and a dagger.  This model was rather fun to make, i love all the fleshy folds.  I will be adding this model to the BookRat Regiment Add-On and will be available individually as well. (assuming the molding process goes well).

And last but not least, a new stretch goal unlocked for hitting $2400, the Rat Swarm!  These models are exceptionally tiny, I don't think my paint job does it justice, just something i did late at night.  Each of these tiny rats is sculpted and molded individually so you can really put them just about anywhere you'd like.  The base they are featured on is a 25mm circle base, (the same as the rat ogre and the weapon team models).   I really want to add some of these little guys to the bases of my other models.  Anyways, congratulations! I hope you all enjoy the rat swarms!

That's all for now.  I will update you on the molding process once i have some new minis cast up and ready to show you.  A little over two weeks are left of the campaign and i'm not done yet, hope to show you more little Ratmen in the coming weeks.  Thanks again for your support on this project!
